Palin and Haiti and The Weight of us

I created a video of Palin's recent trip to Haiti, where she encouraged Americans to donate to Samaritan's Purse and its humanitarian efforts. Please share this video with your friends and family to spread the word about the tragedy in Haiti. Encourage others to volunteer, donate, or to draw attention to this mission. The song "The Weight of us" describes the situation very well. And check out the 3:26 mark.

Aaron Sorkin: clueless Hypocrite who is uninformed about hunting, livestock farms and slaughterhouses

I do not pretend to be the best writer. Whereas Aaron Sorkin can write good fiction (I used to like his TV show), I am much better at learning and writing down facts than he. Sorkin recently condemned Sarah Palin for hunting for food and then tried to convince us that he isn’t a hypocrite for eating meat and using animal by-products. He doth protest too much. Meanwhile, he has no qualms paying blood money, so to speak, for someone else to magically deliver meat entrees ($150) on his table at pricey Los Angeles restaurants (see sample menu prices below) while sneering at those who get their own food. Sorkin is uninformed. For such a haughty, self-righteous liberal who believes the myth of his superiority, Sorkin lacks self-awareness and tolerance.

I am not a hunter. I am a young, Ivy-League- educated, world-traveled, career-oriented, racially-mixed, female New Yorker. The Democrats still think I should support them by default. They lost me and my demographic because of bad policies and because of irritating, foul and nasty liberals like Sorkin.

I don’t know anything about livestock but unlike Sorkin, I don’t judge others and I don’t run my mouth unless I understand the facts. I did a quick research to feed my logical mind while Sorkin relied solely on his (incorrect) assumptions about his limited knowledge of the world. I’ve discovered:

  1. Sorkin is uninformed about how a living animal ends up dead and butchered at a grocery store or a restaurant. His lack of knowledge is even more laughable given his morally superior, know-it-all attitude. He should read the information below about how slaughterhouses kill animals. He should also read about the Islamic Dhabiha and Jewish Shechita (both require animals to be conscious until the point of death) as I just did with a simple Wikipedia search. Maybe Sorkin was itching for his next coke high to bother with this step.

  1. Sorkin is out of touch and narrow-minded about how past civilizations, our pioneer settlements, and even current societies get their food. Sorkin hates people who hunt for food and who celebrate success because it brings food to the table. Again, he hates people who hunt—he hates Africans—well, tribes in Africa—indigenous Australians, Asians, Indians, and many other cultures that live off the land. I’m saddened that this white man is so elitist and racist! Sorkin, stand by your supposed moral conviction—we are waiting for you to rail against how the Jews and Muslims, Africans, Australians and Asians kill animals for food. We are also waiting for you to criticize how Obama served expensive ($100-a-pound), killed Wagyu beef at his inauguration party. Go ahead and rail against them, too—unless you are a witless, unprincipled man-boy.

  1. He doesn’t criticize people who grow and harvest their own vegetables. But he wants to deny people the choice to hunt for organic meat. The two are the same thing, but he applies different logic because his liberal mind is irrational like that.

  1. Hunters learn the noun “viscera” in a tangible way much earlier than when Sorkin learned the word “visceral” (an outgrowth from the word “viscera”) in high school. He made a condescending assumption that readers (and Palin) do not know “visceral”. First of all, how elitist, since Palin received her Bachelor’s degree from a Tier 1 college, same as Sorkin did. Palin has also out-worded, out-phrased, and outsmarted the entire unfriendly media and the supposedly most eloquent and sophisticated President, Barack Obama. Second, Chuck Heath Sr. (Palin’s dad) was a science teacher. Palin knows the word. Third, his mistake is hilarious. He probably didn’t even know that viscera is an anatomic term and that anyone dressing a deer knows viscera and visceral. Viscera->Inner organs->Guts->Gut reaction->Visceral. By the way, visceral is defined as “Relating to deep inward feelings rather than to the intellect”—well, it’s obvious Sorkin didn’t demonstrate intellect in his article. Sorkin’s an elitist idiot. In fact, in Sarah Palin’s domain, there’s a whole lot of stuff he doesn’t know. I’d like to see him go to Alaska and understand and already know 100% of everything that he hears.

  1. Does Sorkin even know the definition of ‘deranged’ and ‘torture’? He has no substantiation for using either word. For a man who writes for a living, it’s funny that he doesn’t use words correctly! Is he calling all livestock workers, butchers, cooks, leather makers, and American, European, African, Asian, hunters “deranged”? Sorkin is no expert, but see how this arrogant fool pretends to know all about hunting and what constitutes torture. An experienced hunter reached a different conclusion than what Sorkin pretended to see. The animal was dead and felt no pain as it was handled by Palin. Every blade stroke was necessary and efficient. The act was respectful of life, not malicious. Palin even gave a prayer for the blessing. Sorkin admitted to buying meat and using leather. Those animals originated from animal farms, where animals are fenced in confined spaces, branded, and raised unnaturally. There, the animals’ sole purpose in life was to be fattened and killed. By contrast, the Alaskan caribous live and roam freely. Some do get killed for food by humans or other predators, but they can run away, too. The wild caribous have a better chance of surviving than do the farm animals that are herded into holding pens at slaughterhouses without escape before they are stunned then exsanguinated.

  1. Fact: Palin hunted and killed an animal for food. Aaron’s entire premise, entire argument is INCORRECT. The hunt was not done with malice and it was not purposeless. It is one way Alaskans have caribou meat to eat. People eat, therefore they hunt. He may be unfamiliar with this because his favorite thing to consume is snorted off some surface.

  1. Like some human activities, maybe hunting seems ritualistic. I don’t know firsthand, but I’d assume it’s like any tradition. Palin enjoyed her time hunting because it was a tradition she shared with her father. Is Sorkin criticizing everyone who, in a similar manner, went fishing with their dads? Why does Sorkin find it acceptable for others to go fishing and celebrate when someone catches fish? In both cases, the ‘hunter’ ends up killing an animal and celebrating that there is food to be cooked and enjoyed as a meal.

  1. Sorkin proved Palin correct by being the face of HYPOCRISY. He is indeed a meat-eating, animal-product using hypocrite who feels it is beneath him to do anything but (have his assistant) buy meat at the grocery store or order it from a menu. He mocks the necessary actions and work needed to produce meat but enjoys the benefits. He likes to keep his hands clean, but fully supports others in slaughtering his meat for him. He’s too good for the basics. Ditto for his use of animal by-products like leather, soaps, and candles. Well, his conscience isn’t clear. He is a WILLING participant in the slaughter of animals (and by the slaughterhouse methods, something that would fall under his bad definition of “torture”).

  1. He’s trying to fool us that the issue is the ‘enjoyment’ of the hunt, not the killing an animal itself. Well, all the times that Sorkin was hungrily waiting for his food to arrive at a restaurant and then rubbed his hands in excitement and salivated when it finally did, he was just like Palin and everyone else. All the times he wanted to cook and became joyous upon finding the right ingredient, he acted just like Palin and everyone else. Sure, he may not have had a direct hand in the killing, but he approves such killings—how else would he have the food? Pretending that it is more honorable to endorse his cowardly, elitist way of having someone else tackle the more unsavory task shows a ‘jaw-dropping’ lack of self-awareness.

  1. Either one has an issue with killing animals for food in general, or one does not. Cut the fake indignation. If Sorkin actually had a moral standard (instead of a political agenda to attack a strong female), then he would condemn using animals at all. Even vegans took to their blogs to laugh at Sorkin for being inconsistent. They call him out as a hypocrite. It’s just another example of liberals picking and choosing their beliefs when it suits them.

  1. Sorkin thinks people cannot put on manicure and be outdoorsy. Really? How sexist.

  1. In the USA, about 9 billion animals are slaughtered yearly. I bet there’s a lot of waste when groceries don’t sell all meat packages and when people throw uncooked food away. Hunters strip all edible portions of the animal and are not wasteful with the food they acquire through harder work than merely moving it from the grocery freezer and into a shopping cart.

I’ve given facts and Sorkin has not. What should people believe more—my research facts or the thoughts of a man who made the wrong choice to use addictive drugs in the first place? I know about Sorkin’s history as I followed his show, and as I read about his continued abuse of cocaine even after his arrest. Sorkin has the rationality and opinion of a hedonistic, debauched man whose top priority is the pleasure of a drug high. He is a helpless, little man enslaved by excess. He is a man trying to be important again, but whose political opinions are pedestrian and are bested by Sarah Palin.

I wrote a rebuttal of Sorkin’s article, but I am not an army and I am not the "a**hole." Sorkin proved that it is he who is the elitist "a**hole"—and an uninformed one at that. How damning for a liberal man who claims to be tolerant and knowledgeable about everything!

Here’s a challenge to Sorkin: stop being hypocritical and put your money where your mouth is, instead of putting a dead animal in your mouth. Until then, your drivel is irrelevant and worthless.

Details on those pricey Los Angeles restaurants:

Spago: “6 Oz. 100% Japanese Wagyu New York” $150

Prime: “Cote De Boeuf Grilled Over Charcoal (For Two)” $100

Beso: “Tomahawk Chop” $64.00

Patina: “Saddle of Millbrook Farm Venison” $50

Petros Restaurant: “Oregano* Veal Chop grilled veal chop with olive oil, lemon and oregano” $34.00

“Grilled Prime New York Steak served with romano beans and string fries (12oz)” $34.00

“Feta Crusted Colorado Rack of Lamb” $36.00

Cicada: “Pan Seared Bone-in Filet Mignon” $39.00

Details on the slaughterhouse process:

The slaughterhouse process differs by species and region and may be controlled by civil law as well as religious laws such as Kosher and Halal laws. A typical procedure follows:

1. Cattle (mostly steers and heifers, some cows, and even fewer bulls) are received by truck or rail from a ranch, farm, or feedlot.

2. Cattle are herded into holding pens.

3. Cattle are rendered unconscious by applying an electric shock of 300 volts and 2 amps to the back of the head, effectively stunning the animal,[10] or by use of a captive bolt pistol to the front of the cow's head (a pneumatic or cartridge-fired captive bolt). Swine can be rendered unconscious by CO2/inert gas stunning. (This step is prohibited under strict application of Halal and Kashrut codes.)

4. Animals are hung upside down by both of their hind legs on the processing line.

5. The carotid artery and jugular vein are severed with a knife, blood drains, causing death through exsanguination.

6. The head is removed, as well as front and rear feet. Prior to hide removal, care is taken to cut around the digestive tract to prevent fecal contamination later in the process.

7. The hide/skin is removed by down pullers, side pullers and fisting off the pelt (sheep and goats). Hides can also be removed by laying the carcase on a cradle and skinning with a knife.

8. The internal organs are removed and inspected for internal parasites and signs of disease. The viscera are separated for inspection from the heart and lungs, referred to as the "pluck." Livers are separated for inspection, tongues are dropped or removed from the head, and the head is sent down the line on the head hooks or head racks for inspection of the lymph nodes for signs of systemic disease.

9. The carcase is inspected by a government inspector for safety. (This inspection is performed by the Food Safety Inspection Service in the U.S., and Canadian Food Inspection Agency in Canada.)

10. Carcases are subjected to intervention to reduce levels of bacteria. Common interventions are steam, hot water, and organic acids.

11. Carcases (typically cattle and sheep only) can be electrically stimulated to improve meat tenderness.

12. Carcases are chilled to prevent the growth of microorganisms and to reduce meat deterioration while the meat awaits distribution.

13. The chilled carcase is broken down into primal cuts and subprimals for boxed meat unless customer specifies for intact sides of meat. Beef and horse carcases are always split in half and then quartered, pork is split into sides only and goat/veal/mutton and lamb is left whole

14. The remaining carcase may be further processed to extract any residual traces of meat, usually termed advanced meat recovery or mechanically recovered meat, which may be used for human or animal consumption.

15. Waste materials such as bone, lard or tallow, are sent to a rendering plant. Also, lard and tallow can be used for the production of biodiesel or heating oil.

16. The waste water, consisting of blood and fecal matter, generated by the slaughtering process is sent to a waste water treatment plant.

17. The meat is transported to distribution centers that then distribute to retail markets.

"A Time to Vote"

The Republican Party already created terrific, action-packed videos about the significance of the midterm elections.

I wanted to bring the focus back on the people - Americans' dignity and quiet desperation under the incapable hands of the liberals. My video puts the human faces to stories of disillusionment, disappointment and economic woes under the Democrats' liberal agenda. This is a compilation of our friends' and neighbors' experiences under Obama's absent leadership. Includes the regretful Obama voters.

Please, please share this with your friends and family to encourage them to vote against the Liberal Agenda! Email it, post it on message boards, Twitter and Facebook. Comments are appreciated.

Suggested Liberal Logo items for new Dem's store

I am ecstatic to see how many voters were engaged during yesterday's primary elections! I've been following the news coverage today and am happy that the non-liberals (Tea Partiers, Republicans and Independents) are getting their message broadcast everywhere.

While average Americans made their voices heard in this struggle for liberty, prosperity and the pursuit of happiness away from government's overreach, it was pathetic that the big Democratic announcement today was all about the unveiling of their new logo! Haha, how narcissistic, shallow and out-of-touch could the Democratic Party be?! Guess they're just following Dear Leader. What interested me was their "new Democrats store". With the new logo in mind, I thought the store was missing some items that every liberal should have so that they can show off how superior they think they are to everybody else!

Now, here just for fun (since we get mocked all the time by our political opponents anyway), and in a clean post for a general audience, I present my suggested items for the Democrats' store. (I am not responsible if you think the words mean something else...there are foul-mouthed liberals like Keith Olbermann who say things. If you are uncertain, check urban dictionary). :-)

Item #1. The D-Bag is a perfect way to show off party loyalty while making a statement about yourself and your Democratic politicians! Imagine pompously explaining to others how these environmentally-friendly, canvas D-Bags ended up creating jobs abroad (since cap and tax increases costs and decreases consumer confidence and spending). Imagine how amazed others will be with your pretentious D-Bag! Get one for yourself, and one for all your liberal friends -- they'll appreciate it.

Item #2. These A-Wipes are always found in dirty backrooms where political trades and dealings occur. But they are also portable and can be found anywhere there is a filthy stench of bribes, arm-twisting thuggery, and power grabs! With A-Wipes like these, you'll always feel clean!!

Get yours today--choose from our
special collector's editions:
A-Wipes from ACORN headquarters
A-Wipes from ObamaCare negotiation rooms
A-Wipes from the Cornhusker Kickback
A-Wipes from the failed stimulus
A-Wipes from national political races
A-Wipes from smear campaigns
A-Wipes from Journolist
A-Wipes from the Chicago Machine...and many more!

Item #3. Represent your party's old and new logos in this timeless D- umb - Donkey T-shirt! Whether past or future, the message is always the same. And whether at the start or the end of a policy, you can always tell it's liberal by the mark of a Democrat. Made by union workers ignored by their own selfish union bosses (card check, member fees, political cheerleading), and worn by most vain and self-absorbed Hollywood celebrities. For a LIMITED time, take advantage of this special deal: Buy A-Wipes and a D-Bag, and get this shirt for free--because you deserve it!

____________________________
It was easy to come up with these. And it's quick to create the graphics, so have your own fun at mocking these style-over-substance Democrats. If you liked this, I'd appreciate your comment. Feel free to share and post this blog and images (credit to me, "VidSweet", is appreciated). Also, I want to register at HotAir. Who among you has some influence?! :-)

Sarah Palin: The Rebel Leader against the Liberal Empire

This woman has already accomplished much at a relatively young age: the youngest and most successful in the political seat she occupied, the descendant of founders and freedom fighters, and the fearless, de facto leader of a rebellious movement struggling against an overreaching and undemocratic government. She was attacked and tortured with mind games. Worse, she endured watching her land being destroyed at the hands of those in power. But throughout all this, Princess Leia Organa’s courage, conviction, skill, great intellect and strong leadership enabled the Rebel Alliance to defeat leaders unworthy of holding command. Leia became one of the galaxy’s greatest heroes for fighting and winning battles to restore the basic guiding principles of the Republic.

The political strife in the Star Wars movies is familiar. As Hot Air mentions, consider the plot for Phantom Menace (episode I): “The Galactic Republic is in a period of decline, with its bureaucracy bloated and corrupt and its economy deteriorating.” And, “The taxation of trade routes to outlying star systems is in dispute.” Just replace “greedy Trade Federation” with our current government, and you’ve got money-hungry and power-hungry leaders destroying the United States of America. We’ve got the evil Emperor represented by the liberal wing of the Democratic Party, composed of party chairs, decision-makers, Harry Reid and Nancy Pelosi. We’ve got Darth Vader as Obama, a man the liberals cultivated from obscurity, an arrogant and narcissistic man seduced by power and installed as a liberal puppet. But fear not, because to oppose this threat to our republic, we have a fightin’ Princess Leia in the form of Sarah Palin.

Sarah Palin Star Wars Leia-Rebellious Year

HillBuzz wrote about this comparison. Their side-by-side images of Leia and Sarah inspired me to make that idea more obvious with a photo-shopped image of the rogue leader Palin, as rebel leader Princess Leia. (Coincidentally, people have been repeating this recently. If i didn't take so long photo-shopping these Palin/Leia morphs and writing for weeks now on my spare time, maybe I wouldn't have been scooped by Schwartz, haha). You can see more Palin/Star Wars photo series here or in my blog. I encourage you to distribute these photos and comment if you like them (h/t credit would be nice).

Some are unsure of what to make of a self-made and independent woman like Palin. They may understand and sympathize with Palin better if they could relate her to someone familiar: a pop culture icon. And there are many similarities between Leia and Sarah. Both grew up smart, sassy, tomboyish, outspoken, and guided by strong convictions. Sarah proudly carries the baton from a lineage that includes Mayflower as well as Revolutionary War ancestry just as Leia embraced her family’s quest for peace and democracy. Palin became the youngest and the first female governor of Alaska. She championed ethics reform and strong energy policy, among other accomplishments for her state. She then became the first Republican woman on the vice presidential ticket. Her personality, ideas and policies reverberated across America and the world. This posed a threat to liberals and to elites from all political parties. So politicians and the media attacked Palin while ignoring the purpose and responsibilities of their jobs. Government leaders prized politics over national interests. The media abused freedom of the press by spreading lies and ignoring their role in checking government abuses. These misplaced priorities continue and have set our nation’s course towards ruin.

One movie scene should serve as a warning to us: Leia had to watch the Death Star destroy her peaceful home planet of Alderaan, which had no weapons. Palin has repeated the words of Ronald Reagan, “Peace through strength.” Perhaps if Americans demonstrated strength and national pride against this feckless government, we could avoid a fate similar to Alderaan’s. For Leia, the heinous act committed by the evil empire changed her from a supporter of the Rebel Alliance, to an active and fearless revolutionary. For Palin, the Democratic Party’s acts of chipping away at our Constitution, our national identity and our founding principles are so repulsive that despite personal attacks against her, she endures to fight another day. Palin made personal and professional sacrifices not only to defend Alaska but to defend the well-being of the entire nation under siege from forces outside and enemies within. Fortunately, Palin has become very effective at disarming opponents. She’s onto their game, found buttons to push, and anticipated their reactions to her advantage. She’s like a Jedi knight: able to sense the flow of energies and play mind tricks on the weak-minded liberals and media people.

But just like Leia had the Rebel Alliance, Sarah Palin needs people to fight alongside her in “rogue missions” to expose and defeat the liberal agenda. Will you answer the call to fight? (Note to liberals and small-minded, biased media: I mean a non-violent political “fight” full of war-themed analogies). Palin already has a patriotic rag-tag army of freedom supporters. Wouldn’t it be powerful if they allied with Tea Partiers and others upset or disappointed with the evil liberal empire? But how can we channel all that support and energy into something productive, specific and tangible? I formed a social media collaboration site: “Rogue Missions.” It gathers the wisdom of the online crowd—that’s you—on the best ideas to defeat Democrats and promote good leaders using social media (blogposts, videos, music, rallies, etc). People can submit and discuss ideas. We will also recruit a pool of talent who will receive assignments based on the skill required for each idea: computer programmers, website designers, writers, video editors, artists and rally organizers. The top ideas (as voted by the online community) are “Rogue MISSIONS” to be assigned to the appropriate supporter. More info at this blogpost. Check it out and tell your friends!

Let me acknowledge that Carrie Fisher, the actress who portrayed Princess Leia, supports Obama and ridicules Tea Partiers. Although I appreciate that she created an iconic warrior princess, Fisher is a drug addict who grew up in the Hollywood privilege of famous parentage. Her career has since plummeted, as did her marriages (one of which was to a gay guy—talk about clueless!). She feels kinship with fellow drug abuser Barack Obama. Drugs damage the brain; that may be why both Fisher and Obama have terrible judgments, skewed perceptions of reality, and poor performances at their jobs. We can take Fisher’s opinion out of the equation because it is irrelevant. We can separate the actress from the role. The character of Princess Leia and the facts about the principles for which she stands clearly support my argument that there are many similarities between Princess Leia and Sarah Palin. Below are additional parallels:

Command Center: Leia = icy planet of Hoth // Sarah = subarctic state of Alaska
Special Quality: Leia = Jedi // Sarah = Patriot
Leader of: Leia = The Rebel Alliance // Sarah = The Tea Party Movement
Supporters: Leia = Rebel fighters // Sarah = American patriots
Aid: Leia = rebel supplies // Sarah = endorsements and contributions
Trademark: Leia = braids // Sarah = glasses
Fighting Partner: Leia = Han Solo // Sarah = Todd Palin
Weapon of Choice: Leia = Blasters // Sarah = Facebook and op-ed posts

The FORCE is strong with Sarah Palin. Sarah *IS* the rebellion, and she represents the good that must prevail in order to have prosperous, free and happy days ahead. Our rogue leader needs more troops in the battle against the incompetent and arrogant liberal empire. The resistance movement to socialism and big government is alive and growing. Recruit others. Donate to the Sarah Palin fund and the SarahPAC. Join Rogue Missions. Join the fight. May the Force be with us!

Rogue Mission to win online war against Liberals through social media collaboration

There are a lot of interesting things being done and shared online. And it’s all happening immediately, right now. Whoever controls this online medium controls the message. Liberals have the advantage in using social media effectively. To win the war of influence, conservatives must shape the conversation by acting quickly and boldly on the internet. That’s why I integrated a free idea management tool into the site “Rogue Missions”. Its purpose is to harness the wisdom and power of the “crowd”, to gather all ideas in one location, and to recruit a ragtag army of talented and technical people in order to defeat liberals and their harmful agenda while promoting good leaders through online activities. We can suggest and vote on ideas. Those with talent or skill can select the best ideas and work on them as their “Mission” or project. Missions may include creating satirical cartoons, viral videos, manipulated images, and interactive content, or drafting volunteers, or organizing rallies.

For decades, the news and entertainment media presented information with their bias. The impressionable youths thought that whatever they heard on the radio, saw on TV, or watched at the movies were socially and morally acceptable and cool. These days, the media is broadcasting their messages online and influencing young people. Worse, these youths create their own content, which repeats the liberal media’s message. This exponential spread has given liberals the advantage in publishing and sharing their ideas online in the form of written posts, videos, communities and discussions.

I had read a post by Adrienne Ross about how the youths have become brainwashed against certain ideas (like national pride and independence) or people (like Sarah Palin) as they interact online. The older demographics are also joining social media networks that are the domain of the young, such as Facebook, blog sites, and YouTube. But the younger generations that grew up with the Internet are still the primary source and social distributor of user-generated content like the “cool” videos and the “interactive” web blogs that gets the most attention (by going “viral”). To get the attention of younger demographics so that we can teach them the goodness, or “coolness” of ideas outside of liberalism, our side also needs to create sharable content.

There are many examples of online content by conservatives. Hot Air and Red State are right-leaning political blogs, and Conservatives4Palin rose in prominence for its thoughtful and investigative ways of promoting and defending Governor Sarah Palin. Newsbusters has a terrific evidence log of liberal media bias, while PalinTV compiles and categorizes Sarah Palin -related videos. But because there are fewer of us creating content online than liberals (that includes online comments/posts), we need a targeted approach. For the 2010 and 2012 elections, we need people to suggest and carry out action items that will spoof the media, mock the liberals, and turn opinion positively for good leaders like Sarah Palin. There are plenty of ideas to promote conservatism and ridicule liberalism and socialism. But there’s never enough time to do them. How would one know which are the best issues to tackle and the best methods to use? One person cannot answer this, but a group of people can! By sharing and acting on the very top ideas (based on the community’s votes), we can be both efficient and effective.

I was inspired to create this Idea-generating community by articles about the technical gap between parties, the liberalism of the youth, the misinformation spread by liberals online, my own experiences, and by Sarah Palin’s astute and effective use of online posts and video (“Mama Grizzlies”). Palin is the ultimate political rogue, and it felt appropriate to name the site “Rogue Missions” because its participants will be rogue freedom fighters that will take on small and large online “mission” projects that will defeat our liberal enemies at their own game. Each of us with desire and dedication can pick up our figurative “weapons”—each of us has something to contribute in time, talent or skills. We must fight such battles in order to win the political war!

HERE’S HOW IT WORKS:
Note: before being able to post, vote or comment, you will need to log in. It’s easy! You can use any of your already existing account (Twitter, Google, OpenID, etc.), or you can register for the Rogue Missions site. OpenID allows you to log in with your account with MySpace, LJ, Blogger, WordPress, and more — instructions are at http://openid.net/get-an-openid

Visitors can suggest an idea.
  • First, check if the idea already exists. Type relevant keyword(s) in the search box found at the top of the page.
  • If the idea is not among the search results, type your new idea in the suggestion box. Specify which category it belongs to: Artwork, Fundraising, Video, Writing, etc, AND for which person(s): Sarah Palin, good leaders, or bad politicians/biased media).
  • Type in only one idea per suggestion box!
  • You will need to be logged in to submit your idea, vote or comment.
  • Follow that idea thread and check if others have voted or commented on your idea!

Visitors can vote on ideas and discuss them with others in the community.
  • Ideas with the most votes will move to the top of the list. Ideas can be ranked compared to all ideas, or only to those in the same category (by activity and target).
  • Use the category list on the left to browse ideas by topic.
  • See which ideas are in review, in progress, or in the completed phases.
  • Comment, enhance, or discuss proposed ideas with your fellow freedom fighters!

Visitors can use their skill to bring to life an idea that has been proposed.
  • If you have a talent or skill (for example, in writing, web development, video-editing, artwork creation, organizing, or protesting) that matches an idea, post a comment to claim the mission. You may also email roguemissions@gmail.com
  • Note: Although multiple rogue agents can work on the same mission and deliver different products for the same idea, we would prefer if agents would attempt another popular idea that has not been claimed. This way, many ideas get accomplished.
  • Use the left-hand category list to browse through ideas that match your talent or skill.
  • When doing a project, consider how it will be used, distributed, accomplished. Ask yourself if you’d like to put a logo/watermark on it, a signature, or your contact info.
  • Once you finish your mission, upload the product in that idea’s “attachments” section. Or post a comment detailing your activities and the link to your completed task.
  • You and our rogue army will strategize on the best way to spread your creation for maximum visibility online.

The functionality of this site was free but with limitations, so my apologies that it’s not as robust/designed the best that it could be. There’s a paid option, which I’m avoiding until I see how well the current site serves our goals. Interested rogue agents can work together through another online collaboration tool that I can set up if so needed.

Please tell others about the Rogue Missions site. We need creative thinkers to discuss ideas and skilled doers to accomplish them!

Steve Schmidt misrepresents Debate Preparation in attempt to discredit Palin

I was a member of the Debate Team at school, and our team was terrific at it, too. In fact, we went on to win the championship. And like Sarah Palin, our team won our tournaments fair and square without the aid of a teleprompter or a verbatim script. Steve Schmidt is deceiving those who aren't familiar with debate preparation and procedures with his deliberately misleading comments on the Sky News article that Palin's debate performance was completely "scripted."

Schmidt would have you believe these lies: Lie #1, that people go into debates unprepared, Lie #2, that debate coaches do not work with their debaters to find solid responses to potential questions, Lie #3, that Palin somehow read from a paper or teleprompter script. And I am writing so that I can bust Schmidt for his obvious misrepresentation of what is a common Debate preparation and practice and for his mission to denigrate Palin's performance.

Here's the behind-the-scenes info: just like all competitors ranging from Athletes to Mathletes, Debaters prepare before a competition and usually work to find the winning strategy with their coaches. Wow, that's not really such a revelation, now is it?! But Schmidt is counting on the fact that non-debaters wouldn't recognize that what he described is typical in debate prep.

From personal debate experience, I can tell you that each year, after the debate topic was announced, our team prepared during the school year by doing our research. More importantly, we brainstormed and anticipated our opponents' arguments and how our team may rebut them. Our debate coach (Schmidt's role during the debate prep, if you will) helped us determine what the questions or arguments might be.

YES, we wrote potential questions as well as arguments that can be thrown at us, along with what the best answers might be. It's how we studied and prepared in the run up to the debates. YES, we mapped out scenarios like 'If they bring this up, we can point out this fact...but if they use another way of looking at that data, we can respond to it in this other way' or 'if they mention this, we answer this way, but if they don't mention it, we'll answer it differently.' YES, our debate coach, who is experienced and trained, did his job by guiding our team members. AND YES, you better believe that the other team was doing the same thing. Here's what NEVER happened: no one ever said our prep notes was a "script", and no one ever read a script or teleprompter during the debates. I mean, do people mock Olympians as merely bringing along their "trained muscles" or auditioning pianists as merely "memorizing the order of notes to play" or perfect-SAT scorers for merely "memorizing spellings from flashcards?" How dare these competitors practice! These are illogical accusations, because in fact, preparation must meet skill and opportunity to result in success.

It wasn't Schmidt's advice or the prep alone that made Palin successful. Sarah Palin had preparation, skill, opportunity, knowledge, confidence, spontaneity, sincerity and humor. She didn't carry any cheat sheet papers or even one teleprompter (Obama has several) as she walked gracefully and confidently across the stage to shake Biden's hand. When there was levity, her sense of humor kicked up and when there was seriousness, her convictions shone through. Real life is NOT scripted. Schmidt claims that the practice questions were within a degree or two of the questions that (moderator) Gwen Ifell asked during the debate". Even if that were true, a degree or two is a LARGE variability--such questions have a different nuance, and need answers specific to the questions, and delivered with poise and eloquence. Debates take surprising turns sometimes, and no amount of scripting could have allowed Palin to lead that course with the communication, wit, and style as she did. Unlike Obama, at the debate Palin wasn't stiffly reading a teleprompter nor would she have been thrown off by any technical glitches. Palin didn't carry a script. Instead she jotted her own notes while Biden responded, and she spoke in her own tone and words. The Palin jabs, jokes, insights and answers from that debate night were all Palin. That's apparent when you hear her comments today (even she is no longer working with Schmidt and wouldn't have access to his so-called 'scripts'). And finally, there's no question that Biden also had similar notes and answer strategies. This is a vice-presidential debate, for goodness' sake! The Democratic presidential candidate carried his verbatim teleprompter everywhere! How refreshing that Sarah didn't read verbatim nor get tripped up by hecklers at campaign speeches.

Steve Schmidt is just bitter that he failed at his task to win the campaign, whereas Palin succeeded in her assigned tasks. This is another desperate attempt to discredit Palin's talents because he is embarrassed for having been called out for his weak strategy and mishandling of the campaign. Now I've called him out for his pathetic insinuation that Palin's performance was simply "scripted". From one debater to a campaign debate coach, you are an embarrassment, Schmidt.

They had come, unsummoned, to guard this train

“She looked out at the country. She had been aware for some time of the human figures that flashed with an odd regularity at the side of the track. […] She had had the track guarded since its completion, but she had not hired the human chain she saw strung out along the right-of-way. A solitary figure stood at every mile post […] All of them were armed, with anything they had found […] They had come, unsummoned, to guard this train.”
(Ayn Rand’s _Atlas Shrugged_, page 242)

As you stumble into my blogpost, I suppose the first question you would want to ask me is who I am. My alias is “VidSweet”, I am a female from New York City who is politically registered as an Independent.

Then, you may ask me why I created my blog in the first place, or why I bother to create political videos. The answer can be found in the quote above from Ayn Rand’s novel, _Atlas Shrugged_. This passage immediately made me think of Sarah Palin and her loyal supporters. The novel’s protagonist, Dagny Taggart (who had seen the guards along the tracks), believes in many of the same positive, self-reliant, hard work ideals to which Sarah Palin subscribes. And like Dagny, Sarah is also a fighter who courageously endures many hardships in order to stand up for her principles. Such a person is to be admired, emulated, defended, and protected.

What strikes me is the fact that we, the Sarah Palin supporters, are like the people along those tracks. Sarah is like the magnificent and powerful train, a symbol of development, work, efficiency, and of the good. And her supporters stand alongside her because we can feel that history is preparing us for something inspiring to happen. There is a fateful purpose for Sarah’s political and personal rise, and we will help her because the results will be a shining light, a beacon for all that is good and honorable. We are eager to see in our time such greatness and achievement, and we see it in Sarah Palin. Therefore, I, like many others feel compelled to help Sarah in whatever goals she wishes to pursue.

Although we are “unsummoned”, we stand with Sarah because we relate so much with her experiences and qualities. So we gather all the tools we have to defend and protect Sarah Palin because the existence of such a good commands protecting that good. Our figurative ‘weapons’ may be our logic, wit, pen, keyboard, videos, music, faith, discussions, creativity, efforts and our time. We are a patient people and we will work and wait, because that kind of perseverance brings success. It will bring success for us, for Sarah, and for our country.

What is my figurative weapon of choice? It is my creativity and video-editing skills to promote Sarah and her policies, while impeding other politicians’ harmful ideas. Check out my YouTube Channel here: http://www.youtube.com/VidSweet You may also visit me on Facebook, Twitter, etc. I am very proud of this video that I made, so please watch it--it's a tribute to Sarah and to her fans: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tgCGMVGCD1Y

You may finally ask me, where do I go from this post? Well, I also plan to blog about how we can leverage social media to mobilize Palinistas. And of course, I'll comment on the latest news items. Anyone else that wants to preserve our country by fighting against terrible policies and insincere politicians, pick up your figurative weapon and join me and millions of others in the fight to steer our country in the right direction.
